A town in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, Grand Isle is located on a barrier island at the mouth of Barataria Bay, where it meets the Gulf of Mexico. The only way to reach Grand Isle by automobile is by a causeway bridge located near the western area of the island.

In the middle of Grand Isle is where you will find this 96 year old cottage known as Maison Cache´, or Hideaway House.

This hideaway camp is a wonderful place for bird watching, fishing, or just reading.

Grand Isle is famous for its deep sea fishing and beautiful beaches on the Gulf of Mexico.  Grand isle is also famous for the Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo.  The Tarpon Rodeo is the nation’s oldest fishing rodeo that takes place the last weekend in July.

There is also the Redfish Rodeo at the end of the season.  Not to be forgotten is the bird migratory celebration for those that enjoy bird watching.  Come enjoy our beautiful Island.
